Q. What is self storage?
Self-storage is a simple, flexible storage solution for things you don’t need every day. You decide how much space you need, bring your stuff down to the store and load it into your unit. You only pay for the space you need and for the length of time you need it. Minimal rental is 7 days.

Q. Can I store everything?
Unfortunately, no plants, food or animals should be sent for storage. We also cannot store precious items such as jewellery, deeds or money for you; nor can we store hazardous goods such as paint, aerosols or gas bottles. Lawnmowers and other petrol engines should be drained before you bring them in. If you are in any doubt, our expert staff will be able to advise you on items, which are unsuitable for storage.

Q. Do I need to prepare anything for storage?
If you are placing your refrigerator of freezer into storage, you should defrost them about one week beforehand. Make sure your washing machine or spin dryer is clean and dry. Some electrical appliances require special preparation before being moved so you should seek expert advice in plenty of time. Everything that goes into storage needs to be clean and dry, so you should start to prepare any outdoor or garden items for storage well in advance of removal day.

Q. How will my things be stored?
For as long as you need, Ad Hoc Storage will take care of your belongings for you as if they were our own. Our warehouses use a containerised storage system to minimise handling and keep your goods clean, dry and secure. Your goods will be loaded into the specially designed storage containers, once filled, the container will not be touched again until you need access to your belongings.

Q. Can I get help moving my stuff into store?
Our friendly staff will supply expert advice and you can use our trolleys. If you need an extra pair of hands to load your stuff in, though, you’ll have to bring them with you!

Q. How often can I get access to my things?
You can visit your unit as often as you need during our opening hours and we won’t charge you any extra. Subject to the agreement entered into you may need to provide 24 Hrs notice to gain access to your belongings.

Q. How much will it all cost?
This depends on how many containers you use, we offer discounts for each additional container used, and we also offer a 10% additional discount for being able to provide 24Hrs notice to access your goods. (Click here to see our cost calculator).

We accept all major credit and debit cards.

Q. Where can I get packaging materials?
You can buy packaging direct from us, please click here to see our range of boxes, bubble wrap and tapes etc, all at competitive prices. To prevent you being caught short, we now offer a buy back policy for unused boxes.

Q. Do I need to book in advance?
You can book in advance if you wish, however we are a growing company and are making provisions to be able to welcome you whenever the need arises, therefore if you just turn up with your belongings we can move you in there and then.

Q. How long can I store my goods?
You can leave your things with us as long as you need to. Our staff pride themselves on taking exceptional care of your belongings, and for your peace of mind, we offer storage insurance for your protection.

All our prices are inclusive of FREE COVER of £1000 per container occupied. Should this need to be increased we can arrange this for a small additional fee.

Q. How do I know everything is safe?
We want you to feel completely reassured that your belongings are in safe hands. That’s why the self-storage facility itself is fully alarmed, with extra-secure red care GSM connections for fire alarm and burglar alarm. We have a perimeter fence, CCTV, and each unit is locked with the customer's own padlock for extra piece of mind. Our storage containers are kept inside at all times - they are never left outside exposed to the weather. You are welcome to visit any of our storage facilities to see for yourself how we will take care of your possessions during removal and storage.
